THE FORGOTTEN CLASSIC BY RICKENBACKER; FULL SIZE NECK,
SMALLER BODY

The Rickenbacker 400 series was an attempt to create a
quality product at a low price. Although never as popular as the 300 series the
400s were well-made and interesting instruments. These were Rickenbackers
solid-body guitars, available from the late 1950s until the mid 1980s. The
first was the ‘tulip’ shaped combo 400 available from 1956 – also the first
Rickenbacker to feature the neck-through body design. All were distinctive
instruments, usually maple with a rosewood fingerboard, often featuring the ‘cresting
wave’ body design that made Rickenbacker solid-bodies stand out, and available
in the Rickenbacker color-glo finishes. The specifications and designs of these
instruments did vary over the course of their production, and some are very
rare indeed.  This FireGlo 420 has a solid
maple body and through neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The 420 was the single
pickup version of the 450.  This one
comes to you in its original case.

This 1968 Rickenbacker  420 Guitar is a used item in VG+
condition.  This guitar has a few body
and top dings and scratches (some on the headstock and edge of body are
pictured) and there is no other structural damage to this instrument.  Headstock edge wear and belt rash on the
back of the body can be seen, but no cracks or issues beyond that.  There is some edge wear as pictured.  Pickup is balanced and works well.  You will receive this item well-packed in its
original hard case.  Returns are very
limited (damaged or erroneous in its description).  Please ask all questions before bidding as
