to present this 1998 Rickenbacker 381V69.
HELLLOOOO MAPLEGLO! What a gem! Derived from an
earlier 1957 design, this guitar’s hand carved
arch top and back and extreme cutaways are the
most prominent features. The binding work is also
first rate all over the guitar. Notice the
“checked” binding around the body’s outline, the
bound crescent sound hole and Rickenbacker’s
classic double bound fretboard. Other standout
features on this killer are the 2 Vintage Single
Coil Toaster Top pickups and the Stereo / Mono
Rick-O-Sound Output. Of course all of the standard Rick features are present, including the 24 3/4″ scale length, rosewood
fretboard and pearloid triangle inlays. There are
only some very minor cosmetic blemishes on the
guitar – a few small nicks and dings. The previous
owner had the position of the strap buttons moved
and moved back, professionally refilling and
matching the custom position holes. Overall, this
axe is tight from top to bottom – a 9 out of 10.
It sings with classic Rick tone and has a feel all
it’s own from its uniquely comfortable body
design. A real keeper and tone monster, the Rick
381V69 is a force to be reckoned with!
