Up for bid is a USED 2006 Dark Cherry
Metallic Rickenbacker 75th Anniversary
4003 Electric Bass Guitar in
EXCELLENT condition. This bass (serial number #11460) is
all-original and has the original strings on it. The purchase of this
bass guitar includes the original deluxe hardshell case as shown. It
also includes the packet of warranty card, polishing cloth, owner’s
manual, and original dealer packing slip as well as two case keys and
one original bridge-adjusting hex wrench.

Description:

This bass is a great collectable, or
just as likely to be one of the most stunning studio or stage basses
anywhere. Like all 4003′s made in recent years, it is mono or stereo
(Ric-O-Sound) and has dual truss rods. It also includes the push/pull
potentiometer allowing you to switch to the “old school” 4001
sound when pulled up, or the full, modern 4003 sound when pushed in.
If you want one of the coolest, and rarest, Rickenbacker’s ever made,
this is the one.

In 2006
Rickenbacker produced a very limited run of 75th
Anniversary guitars and basses. Four models were made, 75 of each.
They were the 4003 Bass, 330 Guitar, 360 Guitar, and the 620 Guitar.
They feature a special finish (Dark Cherry Metallic), a gold
pickguard with a unique 75th Anniversary logo, and a
matching gold nameplate. 60 of each model were produced for North
America and the rest were for overseas dealers. Rickenbacker began
taking orders for these models at 8 a.m. PT on September 1, 2006.
They sold out by noon.

Condition:

This
piece is in EXCELLENT condition. Upon looking over this bass very
carefully, I find just a couple of marks worth noting. There is a
ding on the tailpiece which measures approximately ¼ inch long
(please see photo above). There is a small ding at near the edge of
the jack plate that measures approximately 3/8 inch long (not
discernible by photo). There are also two spots on the bottom end
near the strap button where the finish has chipped away, the longer
area measures approximately ½ inch long by 1/8 inch wide, the
shorter area measure aproximately ¼ inch by 1/8 inch wide (please
see the photo above). The only other blemishes I can find are two
patches of light crazing. These patches are not discernible
by photograph and are only noticeable if you look for them very
carefully. One is located on the front, just bass side of the
tailpiece that measures approximately 2 inches long by 1/8 inch wide.
The other patch is located on the back, treble side near the jack
plate that measures approximately 3 inches by 3 inches. Please
also note that the felt inside the case is matted at the bottom end.
Other than that, this bass is super clean and as beautiful as in the
pictures!
