Okay folks up for auction today is a super cool vintage 1971 Rickenbacker 330 in fireglo. Plays PHENOMENALLY and the 41 year old top looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.

The are no major issues with this guitar, and I think that the guitar is in tremendous shape for its age, but all of the following should be taken into consideration when bidding:

1. The pickups are all original but the pickup covers (“toasters”), and the thin chrome piece that would cover the bridge, are unaccounted for. (see pics)  

2. There is a little ding in the fretboard binding, about 2 millimeters long and 1 millimeter deep just beyond the 12th fret. Wasn’t showing up in the pics. Doesn’t affect play in any way.

3. The original owner swapped out the original Rick tuners and installed Grovers. The holes from the original Rick tuners are visible. (see pics) I do not have the original tuners. The footprint from the original tuners would cover up the grover holes and not be noticable if you put Rickenbacker tuners back on.

4. There are some typical dings at the tip of the headstock (see pics)

5. There is the tiniest of chips on the very top of the Rickenbacker headstock logo.

6. Includes hard case. Don’t know if original. Definitely period appropriate. Has the typical Rickenbacker center latch that latches in the opposite direction.

Bottom line though is that this guitar is full of mojo and belongs in the hands of someone that will really appreciate it, play it, as well as take care of it.  Setup perfectly. Incredible Rick tone. No one can believe it is 41 years old.

So for a collector, if this is your thing, you can buy the toaster pickup covers, bridge cover, and vintage tuners for about $100 online and have it in fully original shape. For a player, whether a pro or a newbie, your ship as come in with respect to a truly affordable Vintage Rick.
