Music Store Live is proud to offer this 1973 Rickenbacker 4001 in Fireglo! You’re looking at a vintage Rickenbacker 4001. This bass is a true road warrior, exhibiting the type of wear you’d expect from a 38-year-old bass. There a small crack on the pickguard next to the pickup. But don’t let these character-giving scars deter you. This bass is top notch. The feel of this 4001 is about as good as it gets. The set up allows for fingering ease along all 21 frets. Her powerful neck pick-up aids in greater tonal flexibility while the bridge pick-up provides intense bass response. This 4001’s sound is easily customizable with the bass and treble volume and tone knobs as well as a 3-way pick-up selector. She also comes with the original Ric-O-Sound mono/stereo output giving this bass massive sound. The most notable signs of gigging use are the 3 main wear spots and buckle rash on the rear of the bass as well as some chipping along the top of the headstock and worn spots along the neck. The binding is not as vibrant as it once was but it has taken on a nice aging. This does not affect the bass in any way beyond cosmetic. The all-original hardware still shines with some slight oxidizing here and there. This 38 year old is far from dead. She just needs a new owner to get her back on stage. Don’t let this seasoned bass slip away.
