Vintage 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 Fretless Bass ,I don’t see enough Ricks to be able to tell whats authentic and whats not I do know that the pickguard is not right the person that I bought it from said that he had made for it ,if he never told me I would not have known ,but it is a little bigger than the origional,The pots inside are 13773s that puts them at 1973, i ran the jack plate through the rick web site it put it at 1974,could have had pots from 73 left over, the good thing about it is the Neck is Very True,action is great no Buzzing, the bad ,look at the pictures on the front of the guitar,I count 6 small holes that were filled in looks like someone had a full body pickguard on it at one time,If your up on stage no one will notice but up close they will you’ll find a few more under the guard, and if you decide to get the right pick guard , you will have hole to patch from the old guard best to leave it as it is,and on the back as the pictures should show two larger holes where someone must have had a couple of strap button one is in the dark stripe may be hard to see in the pictures,but all in all it is a Great player and not a bad looker ,A fretless rick is a Rare Piece, Buyer pays actual Shipping for lets say a 28 pound 48″ x 18″ X 6″ non origional Hardshell Case included
